Alex has everything. A cute boyfriend, a job at the best pizza place and she’s “the coolest person in town.” She is full of confidence and nothing can bring her down. Except maybe when she accidentally brings the dead back to life on Halloween.
While volunteering at the library, she comes across a dusty book that looks like it is covered in human flesh. Alex decides this will be the perfect addition to her witchy costume. At the cemetery (of course, you have to have teens at the cemetery on Halloween), Alex shows off the book to her friends. It suddenly opens and Alex reads from the book. Corpses begin to rise from the grave. It is up to Alex to undo her mistake and save her friends and family from the undead.
The book comes off as YA at first but once the dead are back, it becomes more adult. These are no Romero zombies. They can talk and remember their lives before death. The zombies reminded me of ones from Return of the Living Dead. Comical and hell-bent on getting some brains to slurp on.
